This Inland is a first block from June of 1943 to December of 1943. The serial number is 761780. What makes this carbine unusual is that the receiver is made by Saginaw Gear for Inland Division. The top of the receiver is marked Inland Div. and the serial number. On the left side of the receiver by the bolt lug cutouts below the stock line is a large S G . This denotes that the receiver is made by Saginaw Gear Of Saginaw Michigan. This carbine has one other unusual feature, that is the barrel month is missing from the year date of 1943. This error is not often seen on barrels. As the month changes, the month number is changed. Someone forgot to put the new month number in the roll die. Not many barrels were stamped before someone spotted the omission and made the correction. It is rare to see something with this kind of mistake. The carbine itself has all the correct parts and codes for this serial number block. This is a vet's take home gun and not a restored carbine. The type one barrel band is original to the gun. It has the correct dog leg hammer, flat bolt, operating rod, rear flip sight and trigger group. The bore is sharp and clean. The stock has no cracks or wood loss. The crossed cannons logo is clear as well as the IO stamp inside the sling slot. It has some scratches on the left side of the stock by the receiver area. The large circle "P" is very visable on the grip flat. On the right and left side of the stock are some stains of unknown origins. This carbine does show service use but this gun was well cared for. Almost all of the original finish is intact, this includes the barrel, bolt and trigger group of parts. Has the correct sling and magazine. This is a nice clean unusual and desirable Inland Carbine! Would be a great gun in any collection.

BKEE  Curio&Relic  F. No. 169

This is a standard issue Inland carbine with two unusual features as noted. 1943 was a rough year for the war effort as well as the manufacturing plants gearing up for producing the carbines. There were several crossovers by many plants in parts and materials to speed up production of these guns. That is why you see a Saginaw Gear receiver for Inland.

Concerning Phone Calls

For those folks that do not know me yet, I’m very hard of hearing on the phone. Therefore when you would call me, I will pick up the phone and tell you that I will call you right back. I have caller ID just so that you know, the reason for that is I cannot use a regular phone. I have to switch over to what is called a voice carry over phone. When I call you back  you will hear my voice in our conversation, an operator will type your conversation to me on my phone view screen. With me reading what you are saying to me saves me a lot of confusion for me mishearing words.

I do want to talk to you and answer your questions without mistakes or miscommunications. This system works pretty good, so please be willing to be patient with my hearing loss.

My wife Marcia has fine hearing on the phone and is quite knowledgeable about firearms and is very able to help you over the phone.

Thanks, Harry
